There are days on the water that stick with you, and this was definitely one of them.
I headed out for another drift on a local Cariboo river with my brother, Darcy. The weather was perfect, the scenery was beautiful, and it turned into one of those days that reminds you just how fortunate we are to have places like this right in our backyard.

A Stunning Cariboo Rainbow
We caught a few fish throughout the day, but one rainbow trout in particular was something special.
The colours on this fish were incredible—easily one of the most beautiful rainbow trout I have ever seen. The vibrant pinks, reds and natural markings were something you just had to stop and admire for a moment.
After a few photos, the fish was released back into the river to swim another day.

More Than Just the Fishing
For me, days like this have always been about more than catching fish.
It’s the time spent with family and friends, floating through beautiful country, exploring a river and simply enjoying a day outdoors.
After spending so many years guiding and fishing throughout British Columbia, I still appreciate how lucky we are to have this kind of water and wilderness so close to home.

Living the Cariboo Lifestyle
Great company, beautiful water and an unforgettable rainbow trout made for another fantastic day on the river.
This is a big part of what Living the Cariboo Lifestyle means to me—and one of the reasons I’m proud to call this part of British Columbia home.
All fish were released safely to swim another day.
