There’s nothing quite like a good fishing trip with good friends, and this trip to Terrace was one of those adventures that reminded me why I’ve spent so much of my life exploring British Columbia with a fly rod in hand.
I headed north to Terrace with my buddy Bill in search of steelhead. We stayed at my buddy Rod’s guest cabin on beautiful Lakelse Lake, which made the perfect home base for a few days of fishing, exploring and catching up with friends.
A Few Days in Skeena Country
We were also able to hook up with our buddy Pat, who joined us for a couple of days on the water.
The fishing was good, there were plenty of steelhead around, and we managed to connect with some beautiful fish. But, like most memorable fishing trips, the fish were only part of the story.
There’s something about spending a day on a BC river with good friends—the early mornings, incredible scenery, laughs on the water and stories at the end of the day—that keeps you coming back.
Terrace and the Skeena country have always been special to me, and trips like this are a good reminder of just how incredible British Columbia is.
More Than Just the Fish
Great friends, beautiful country, time on the water and a few steelhead thrown into the mix. It’s pretty hard to ask for much more.
